I have had my Bertha table for about 12 years. The Hydraulic lift for flat bed sewing and the size of the surface with the quilt extension were the main features I needed in a sewing table. Being able to close the cabinet to a smaller size has been nice on a couple occasions when my sewing room was also used as a guest room. The table is sturdy and looks nice in my room. The trays in the door are handy for small notions, etc.
There are a few things I wish were different. I use my table with 3 different vintage sewing machines (a 1951 Singer Featherweight, a 1946 Singer 201, and a 70s era Pfaff). Every few weeks I need to change the height of the lift to accomodate the various sized machines. The bolts that must be loosened and then tightened to make those adjustments are difficult to adjust. Over time they have become stripped to the point they must be replaced before I can make another adjustment. Sounds like a simple repair, but the construction of the lift mechanism actually makes it rather complicated. Hopefully my experienced mechanic husband can fix it.
Also, I am 5’9″ and the top of the table is about an inch to low for me to actually be able to have the most ergonomically correct posture for both sewing and free motion quilting. When I raise my chair to the correct height, the front of the table doesn’t have enough clearance for my legs to slide fully under the table. This lack of space was compounded by the position of the magnetic latches for the cabinet doors. The latches were catching on my pants and actually made holes in two pairs of jeans. Eventually, my husband removed the latches. Since there is no way to raise the height of the table to make more room for my legs, I am going to have my husband cut a couple of inches off the front.
Overall, I have enjoyed using my Bertha sewing table/cabinet. But I do see some areas where the company could improve this product. I am very happy my husband purchaed it when it cost about $800 because there is no way I could afford or justify the current (2021) price of $1,599.

I love the cabinet. I have been sewing for many years and this is the first time I have a place of my own to sew. No more using the kitchen table or folding table. We did have a problem with damage to the door but they were quick to respond and send a replacement. The only thing I wish is that the wings would have an option to fold down the sides for times when you have a small project and don’t need all the space. Both wings need to be open to use the machine. I am considering the custom insert in the near future.

Thank God for junk drawers! I gotta give it 4 stars because we were missing a few screws. One of the connection bolts came unthreaded. it was fairly easy to assemble with the directions an watching a you tube video. The video moves very fast great looking cabinet. hopefully my wife gets many years of use out of it.

I wanted a cabinet that would let me sew with my machine flush to the table. I have rheumatoid arthritis and noticed it is getting harder to have my wrists in the awkward position tipped up to sew.

I LOVE the Bertha cabinet I bought. It is just perfect for my quilting and I feel SO much more organized now. Great product for a great price. Will recommend it to my quilting friends.
Cabinet went together very well and feels very solid. I can’t wait to get my Plexiglas insert to finish the setup and final tweaks.

UPDATE: I would like to thank Arrow’s terrific customer service! I’ve needed to call several times and have gotten personal and very helpful guidance each time. I just received a new platform to help my issue without even asking! I’d especially like to give a shout out to Harriet E. who fatefully always seemed to get my calls and never failed to talk me off the ledge w her knowledgeable and terrific suggestions and assistance to get me on the right track. Kudos to Arrow for employing such knowledgeable and dedicated customer service reps! Thanks so much Harriet!
I had a lot of problems assembling the cabinet even w 2 of us and following each step and watching the video. The platform lilts to the front so my insert doesn’t sit flush in the back of my machine. We have reassembled it several times w the same results. They replaced the platform but the problem persists. I think the problem is that all the strength is at the back of the cabinet. The front of the platform has no support to keep it level Id they added some type of bracket toward the front of the platform, I think that may solve the issue. I cant do it on my own for fear that I would invalidate my warranty. I called the store where I ordered my cabinet and found that even one of the employees had the same issue. Shes been dealing w her problem longer than I and have still gotten no resolution. I am so frustrated and upset singe the even surface was one of the main reasons I wanted s new cabinet to begin w. I just don’t know what to do now because I had a cheap table that worked as well as this one seems to since i cant get the insert to remain flush due to the failing platform. I don’t have a lot of money and this was a big splurge for me which makes it even more frustrating and sad

I have bought 2 Bertha Cabinets and I absolutely love them! I am a widow so I assembled myself and had no problems. It did take some fine tuning to get the platform right where I wanted it. The acrylic insert fit like a glove. And I recently discovered a wonderful benefit… my new Janome 500e stand alone embroidery machine fits the opening perfectly at the flatbed level! So now when doing Edge to Edge quilting (looks just like it’s been long armed) I have a huge level deck for all the bulk of the quilt. There is but a 1/16” clearance so it does not even need an insert! The lift works great. And the extension table makes big quilts easy to handle. I love this sewing table for its versatility and value.

Love the cabinet, went together without any problems handles my wife’s Bernini 770 QE great the only thing is you have to remove your project and insert to access the bobbin which is not fun when quilting a project.

I have had this cabinet for several months now and still feel like I paid way too much for the quality of the cabinet. I have spoken to customer service and they respond quickly, but that does not help when the doors will not stay open. The company replaced the magnets, but even after adjusting them the doors do not stay closed. If you are looking for a cabinet that you can close up after sewing beware of the doors not staying closed The cabinet fits my machine which is good, but putting this cabinet together was a nightmare even after watching the videos. For the quality of the product I should have paid no more then $300. My dream is to get a Koala cabinet but that is not in the budget, so I guess I will just have to keep this one and deal with the problems.
