FAQs

Product Information

What is sewing furniture?
From sewing cabinets and hydraulic sewing chairs, to dedicated cutting tables and thread storage solutions, sewing furniture is designed to enhance your sewing experience with comfort and convenience! Far too many sewers still use their dining room tables, unaware that ergonomically designed sewing furniture is available to enhance their sewing and quilting experience.

Sewing cabinets provide a dedicated workstation designed to accommodate long sessions at your machine, promote better ergonomic posture and provide an elevated experience!

Will my sewing machine fit in every sewing cabinet or sewing table?
Not quite. Just like sewing machines, sewing cabinets come in various shapes and sizes. Each sewing cabinet has its own individual lift size opening to accommodate sewing machines. Before purchasing a sewing cabinet, please refer to our Lift Openings page to find the perfect lift opening size for you sewing machine!

If you’re still not sure, please call 1-800-533-7347 to speak to an Arrow Sewing Specialist!

What are sewing lifts?
Sewing lifts are the part of a sewing cabinet or sewing table responsible for holding your sewing machine. Sewing lifts allow a sewer or quilter to move their sewing machines, up or down, to preferred sewing positions: flat bed or free arm sewing. Every sewing cabinet or sewing table has its own individual sewing lift, each with different capabilities.

There are 3 different types of sewing lifts: manual, hydraulic and electric.

Will my sewing furniture arrive assembled?
This depends, but the majority of our sewing furniture will need to be assembled. To help assist you in your assembly, Arrow Sewing provides detailed Assembly Manuals and Official Assembly Videos to get you up and running as quickly as possible!

Please refer to our Assembly Hub for more information.

What is the difference between sewing cabinets and sewing tables?
Sewing cabinets are designed for 2 things – comfort and convenience! You spend hundreds of hours behind your sewing machine – your sewing workstation should be a one-stop shop for all of your sewing and quilting needs. Sewing cabinets are generally larger than sewing tables, and emphasize: a larger worksurface, dynamic storage solutions (multiple drawers, thread racks, deep drawers for irons), built in cutting mats, built in pressing stations, expandable quilt leaves, heavy-duty casters for easy mobility, and permanent sewing machine housing. Sewing cabinets are ergonomically designed to help eliminate sore backs and tired wrists, and save you valuable set up and tear down time – more time sewing!

Sewing tables are designed to be reliable, durable and transportable sewing stations! Most sewing tables feature a 2-position manual lift, meaning that it allows for 2 sewing positions – flat bed and free arm sewing. Sewing tables are valuable for smaller sewing areas, spare bedrooms, to take to sewing guilds, or even on vacation in your RV! Sewing tables won’t give you permanent sewing machine house, they won’t accommodate the largest machines on the market or a place to store your notions, but… they’re affordable, reliable and take you off the dining room table!

Did you remove roman numerals from product names?
